| Overlapping of Frames & Moldings
|
|
Sometimes it is
desirable to have the solar panel overlap the frame or molding for aesthetic
purposes. This can be done if the frame or molding protrudes no further than
3/8" (depending upon the mounting type) outward from the surface of the
glass. The chart below shows the mounting types and the maximum frame
thickness (extending beyond the surface of the glass) that can be comfortably
covered by the solar shade screen panel.
| Mounting Type |
|
| Dual Grip Pads |
3/16" |
| Standard 2" Suction
Cups |
1/4" |
| Oversize 2.5" Suction
Cups |
3/8" |
|
Standard placement of
the cups or pads is approximately 3/16" from the edge of the solar screen
panels. Under "Advanced Features" section on the "Ordering"
page, you may request to have the cups or pads set back an
additional
1/4" or 1/2" or you may request any distance (in addition to
the the 3/16") in the "Remarks"
section on the ordering page. |
Example
Setback of cups or pads:
On a window of 32"
x 18" glass measurement with an additional set- back of 1/2"
requested, you would order a panel size of 33" x 19". This would
allow the panel to overlap the frame by 1/2" on all sides. |
In some instances, you
may want to overlap only one, two or three sides. Or, you may need other
customization. Just order the panel size
correctly and let us know your request by one of two methods:
| Method #1 |
Enter simple instructions in
the Remarks section on the Ordering page |
| Method #2 |
Write "Details to
follow" in the Remarks section and then email, fax
or postal mail any complex instructions, drawings or templates |
